Our Elite designation is an indicator of the types and numbers of Invisalign cases we treat successfully. You can trust that your smile is in great hands at Joy Orthodontics!
What is it?
Invisalign is an effective way to straighten teeth and improve bites in both adults and teenagers. It uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign trays are hygienic and aesthetic, and move teeth in a more gentle way than braces can.
Invisalign is made with 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective. More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to treat with Invisalign—including Drs. Levine and Crews!
Why would I want it?
Invisalign trays are clear, making them the best aesthetic option Drs. Levine and Crews have for tooth movement. Invisalign also promotes better oral health than other orthodontic treatment as well. In fact, and surprising to most people, Invisalign may be indicated to treat certain orthodontic problems in a more efficient manner than traditional braces!
We want to see you succeed with Invisalign!
Drs. Levine and Crews use an oral scanner to begin your Invisalign treatment—that means no goopy impressions! Once your digital impressions are sent to Invisalign and your aligners are created, you’ll return to Joy Orthodontics to officially begin your Invisalign treatment.
You will receive anywhere from three to seven sets of trays at a time. Depending upon the amount of days each set is worn, you’ll need to return to our office every eight to nine weeks to pick up new trays and have your progress evaluated. These visits are typically very short.
How long you may wear Invisalign depends on the problem you have. Some treatments are completed in less than six months while treatment that is more complex may take 12 to 20 months. The most important part of completing treatment on time is you! Success in our Invisalign patients comes from being “all in!” This means wearing your trays as close to full time as possible—at least 20 hours per day.
Is Invisalign right for me?
Almost every kind of malocclusion may be treated with Invisalign. In fact, many open bites can be treated with Invisalign, eliminating the need for some types of surgery. The choice of Invisalign for you really depends on the unique nature of your problem, which can only be determined by an examination at our Jacksonville or St. Johns orthodontic offices.
